Route 44, ’44th Avenue’, runs from Wheat Ridge – Ward Road Station to Civic Center Station Station via 44th Avenue and 15th Street Downtown.
In January 2025, the eastern segment of the route to 40th & Colorado Station was transferred to the new ART District Connector with buses now being rerouted into Civic Center Station.
The route used to continue all the way to Golden as its Westbound terminus.
Map & Schedule

Route 44 operates 7 days a week. Frequency is generally 60 minutes throughout the day and in the evenings.
Vehicles Used

The route is operated by TransDev on behalf of RTD using Gillig 40ft Low Floor transit buses from Broadway Garage, Denver.

Future Plans
The System Optimization Plan details proposals to create an ART District Connector (Route 1E/44) out of the easten segment which have now been implemented. In addition, there remains a proposal to increase weekday frequency to 30 minutes.
