The ART District Connector provides a link between some of Denver’s most visited cultural sites such as the Santa Fe Art District, Denver Theatre District, and RiNo Arts District. Launched in January 2025, the route serves the Baker, Five Points, and Elyrea / Swansea neighborhoods, connecting the between the Alameda and 40th & Colorado rail stations.

The ART District Connector was created out of a combination of the former eastern segments of Route 1 and Route 44.

Current Issues

Like the previous Route 44, the ART District Connector suffers from poor routing as it misses 38th & Blake Station by one block. It will also need to be rerouted away from a stretch of Larimer in RiNo as the popularity of vehicle-free streets grows in Denver.

Future Plans

The System Optimization Plan details proposals to create the ART District Connector (Route 1E/44) which have now been implemented. In addition, there remains a proposal to increase weekday frequency to 30 minutes.
