Bring Back the C Line Between Littleton – Mineral and Union Station

The C Line was introduced in April 2002 with the opening of the 1.8 mile Central Platte Valley spur to Denver Union Station. Along with the D Line, it gave customers travelling from Littleton and stations along the southwest light rail corridor a choice of Downtown Denver destinations without having to transfer.

The C Line was initially suspended in April 2020 due to the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and this suspension was made permanent in the January 2021 service changes. However since then, unadvertised trains mimicking its route have often operate for special events at Empower Field at Mile High.

Since then, requests to bring back the C Line routinely feature in public feedback to RTD, in particular during the service change process.

It is clear that the ‘one-seat ride’ from stations along the Southwest Light Rail Corridor to Union Station, Empower Field and the Ball Arena is something that RTD’s customers value highly and we urge the agency to reinstate the line as soon as practicable.

We request that RTD bring back the C Line between Littleton – Mineral and Union Station.
